  Change Moode volume with bluetooth headphone buttons
Posted by: jenzd - 3 hours ago - Forum: Support - No Replies

Hi all,

I am trying to find a way to use the volume buttons of my bluetooth headphones to set the volume shown in Moode's GUI (i.e. actvate "absolute volume" for the bluetooth output) .

I already got to the point where I can use the headphone volume buttons to set the volume level shown by alsamixer -D bluealsa. Yet this does not have any effect on the volume shown by the Moode GUI. How do the alsa and Moode (MPD?) volume settings actually relate to each other? Is there a way to keep them synchronised as well?

What I did so far (starting from a fresh Moode 8.3.9 installation):

1) Enable the native A2DP volume control of bluealsa by adding the switch --a2dp-volume in the config file /etc/systemd/system/bluealsa.service:

Code:
[Service]
Type=simple
ExecStart=/usr/bin/bluealsa -p a2dp-source -p a2dp-sink -c aptx -c aptx-hd -c ldac --a2dp-volume --sbc-quality=xq+

2) Connect to the bluetooth headphone and deactivate bluealsa's internal scaling by issuing the following command (using the device name shown by bluealsa-cli list-pcms):
Code:
bluealsa-cli soft-volume /org/bluealsa/hci0/dev_XX_XX_XX_XX_XX_XX/a2dpsrc/sink false

3) Verify that bluealsa-cli --verbose list-pcms shows "Softvolume: false" and that I can now use the volume buttons on the headphone to change the volume shown by alsamixer -D bluealsa

Any ideas what is missing to take the final step and synchronise with the Moode volume level (if this is possible at all)?

Thanks & best regards
Jens

  Moode 9 bluetooth PIN code issue
Posted by: Tim Curtis - 4 hours ago - Forum: Support - Replies (1)

Hi,

The just released ~pre4 moode 9 code contains a new Bluetooth feature that supports PIN code authentication but currently it is not working correctly.

Help needed :-)

The symptom is that after entering the PIN code on the client the pairing appears to work (shows up as paired in Bluetooth Control screen) but the connection fails and thus bluealsa-aplay is not launched.

Here are the pieces

/etc/bluetooth/pin.conf
/usr/bin/bt-agent
/etc/systemd/system/bt-agent.service
/var/www/daemon/worker.php, job=bt_pin_code

PIN code=None
ExecStart=/usr/bin/bt-agent -c NoInputNoOutput
ExecStartPost=/bin/sleep 1
ExecStartPost=/bin/hciconfig hci0 sspmode 1

PIN code = 123456
ExecStart=/usr/bin/bt-agent -c NoInputNoOutput -p /etc/bluetooth/pin.conf
ExecStartPost=/bin/sleep 1
ExecStartPost=/bin/hciconfig hci0 sspmode 0

Note: sspmode (Secure Simple Pairing Mode)

I also tried PIN code auth with the existing /var/www/daemon/blu_agent.py script and no success.

  Switch renderer from cmdline or url
Posted by: rawdlite - Yesterday, 10:48 AM - Forum: Support - No Replies

Hello,

I would like to switch between renderers via cmdline or by opening a URL.
Usecase is gpio buttons to activate squeezelite or airplay etc.
I checked moodeutl, but there are only options to restart a renderer not to activate one.

What is the best way to switch between renderers from a remote script?

TIA

Hi, I'm new in the forum.
I was really bored and found a RPI3B in a drawer and thought I'd use it to play my FLAC collection. Let's do it!. I'm setting up with a Hifiberry Digi+ and playing with moode. I discovered moode a few weeks ago and I think it's great. My intention is to plug it to a WIIM PRO using spdif. Later on, maybe I will make a custom case with a 5-inch screen. I'm so bored   Big Grin

Hi I'm new to moOde audio!

I am interested in: streaming audio, linux, open source, and especially: ideas around the circular economy and the re-use/repurposing of ''amazing/old" audio equipment.

  Reboots Hang
Posted by: quimbo - 04-13-2024, 09:04 PM - Forum: Support - Replies (5)

Allo UsBridge Signature
Windows 11.0
Local NAS which is up and running, 17 TB of flac

This appears to be happening a lot more frequently with release 8.3.9, it is the first time i installed the 64-bit version

When i reboot my computer the USBridge hangs.  After a bit, the page displays and after clicking a radio station or system>config it begins to hang.  i was able to start a putty session and got this far (I was trying to issue cmd moodeutl --mpdlog

Code:
Host:  moode
RPiOS: 11.9 Bullseye 64-bit | Linux: 6.1.21 64-bit
Model: Pi-CM3+ 1GB
Audio: Schiit Bifrost 2 Unison USB

             Release 8.3.9 2024-02-23
               (C) 2014 Tim Curtis
** To set a new password for your userid type 'passwd'.

jaypa@moode:~ $ bash
jaypa@moode:~ $ m

i was able to type m and the redlight has been pegged since 4:54 PM, it is now 5:04 as i type this (a little later after save)

If I unplug and plug back in the USBridge (after waiting for a bit) and eventually after multiple loops of unplug / plug the system is stable and will be so for days or longer until the next reboot

Probably not a moode issue but at a loss to a fix

Thanks, Jay

  Can´t connect via MacBookPro-Qobuz
Posted by: Alexus - 04-13-2024, 11:44 AM - Forum: Support - Replies (28)

Hi everyone,

I have a rapberry 3 with ProtoDAC installed. I can connect to Moode via mconnect on the Iphone and playing qobuz music. But if i use FireStream on my MacBookPro, there is nothing in the desktop app in qobuz to select, exept the internal loudspeakers. I also tried to install in Termnal the Bubble UpnP, the same problem, they see both the MoodeUpnP, but there is no possibility to select it via Qobuz.

Has anyone an idea??

I want to make an subscription to Qobuz, but only if it is working from the Desktop, because it is more comfortable as from the little Iphone. So I am only registered but have not paid it, because it didn´t work.

  WiFi on RaspberryPi 2b
Posted by: DaTTcz - 04-12-2024, 10:42 AM - Forum: FAQ and Guides - Replies (1)

Hi, I use MoodeAudio 8.3.9 32bit on RaspberryPi 2b 1GB. Everything works as it should.
Now I am forced to move the Raspberry to another room and connect via WiFi. I used USB WiFi.
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 0bda:f179 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8188FTV 802.11b/g/n 1T1R 2.4G WLAN Adapter
I can't get it to work, in another distribution it works without problems. I can't enable UP here, permission problem.
3: wlan0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 qdisc noop state DOWN group default qlen 1000
    link/ether 00:e0:4c:81:88:02 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff

So what is the procedure  Huh

Or how to install Moode Audio on another distribution ? Maybe DietPi ?

Thank You David.
