It looks like the amp has a bunch of ALSA settings.
After u get it setup post the output from cmd below.

Had contact with the support department, they gave me the following message:
We will be uploading the images for moode audio player soon. So there is no need for building them manually.
You will find them on the following link:
https://github.com/Infineon/merus-audio-amp-hat-zw/releases
Take into account that also, in the next few weeks the merus amp hat zw drivers will be supported on the official Raspbian distribution. They will appear on the next Raspbian update. So after that, it won’t be necessary any more to use the suggested images and the HAT will be available for every audio player based on Raspbian such as any other audio HAT.
So, soon there will be more available.

Good luck with their naive approach.
Their OEM moOde image will quickly become stale and out of date and our project does not provide support for images made and distributed by OEM's unless there is some sort of agreement in place.
The fact that the kernel driver is present starting with 4.19.108 doesn't help users because unless it and its ALSA options are integrated into moOde users will have to resort to using SSH to edit Linux boot files and run ALSA commands.

Nah... their approach is not 'naive' at all, it's quite mischievous as it is targetting naive buyers with this 'Swiss-army penknife' solution for audio on RPi, the 40W 5V/2.5A HAT AMP running all the imaginable music players... and they are not the only ones to have done this (nor they will be...).

Tested the Merus 40 W HAT. In a first breadboard set-up, see picture.

Speakers Fountek FE85 in closed (small) box. Raspberry Pi Zero WH, power supply standard Raspberry 2.5 A.
SW, the temporary solution with the MoodeMeritAMP image from Infineon (just to test for next weeks)
AMP settings at default as shared in previous post.
Observations:
- Surprising good rich sound
- Bass performance with parametric equalizer boosted at 70 Hz for 15 dB (to correct for the FE 85 limited Bass)
- At moderate/high sound level, no audiable distortion level, also not at the bass.
- At moderate sound level, no issues with heat, AMp chip, power supply and Raspberry < 45C
All in all, for this application a decent solution. I will further detail the design of set-up and testing in the next weeks.
