I love moode but need a later pi. That the problem, I am very overspent on experimenting with Hi Fi.
So can it be run on a pc. I have a thin client with an Intel Atom E3825, dual core 1.4ghz, 2gb memory.
Any chance or forget it.
Thanks

It can't be run on a PC.  At the most basic level, a Raspberry Pi uses a totally different processor than a PC does, so they don't even share an instruction set.  Beyond that, moode is built on a version of Linux tailored to the Raspberry Pi.  It won't even start to boot on a PC.

If your thin client can boot from a USB device, you might be able to run an alternative to moode, like Daphile, which is built specifically for use on Intel architecture PCs (https://daphile.com), or Volumio, which has versions available for multiple hosts, including Intel PCs and Raspberry Pi boards (https://volumio.org/).

I've used both, but I prefer moode.

Thanks for that. I already use daphile but its not open source and the help forums are not very good at the problems I am interested in. The moode audio forum on the other hand seems vibrant and inventive by comparison.
I will have to wait a bit until I get a later pi.
Thanks
