Solved: Problem playing High Rez File

I have just installed Moode 6.4.0 on a USBridge Sig connected to an USB DAC (Amanero 384)

I have JRiver MC25 running as DLNA server (conneted via RJ45 to the USBridge sig)

As soon as I play a 96 kHz or a 192 Khz file, the audio is strongly Jerky

thanks for your help

         My audio problem is solved and was very probably due to a fault during memory flash by Etcher (from Windows PC)  who needed to be upgraded

Copy one of the files to /mnt/SDCARD in the SIG or to a USB stick and play it from that location after updating MPD database.

192 Khz file is playinng flawlessly on USB !

That result would suggest that there is an issue on the network.

Is your Jriver PC connect directly to the SIG?

Jriver and USBridge sig are connected to the same switch

Have you had any luck debugging your issue?

My fatal flaw is the inability to resist trying new technology whenever the chance arises (my boss used to accuse me of always wanting to eat my desert first!).

This evening I downloaded and installed JRiver Media Center 25.0.114 on a trial basis on an i5-4690K Linux host. I won't pretend to understand all the JRMC features and options but applying my usual "brute force and ignorance" approach I got it running. I downloaded some high resolution demo files from 2l.no to populate the library.

Test configuration:

Media server: JRMC25 running on the Linux Mint host connected to my LAN by Ethernet to my router. Library "imported" from my user's Music directory on the system disk of this host.

Media renderer: moOde 6.4.0 (64-bit kernel) running on an RPi4B connected to the LAN via 5GHz WiFi to the access point on the router. Khadas Tone Board USB DAC connected to the moOde player.

Media controller: Linn Kazoo running on an Apple iPad 10.7 (5th gen) also connected via 5GHz WiFi.

I am able to play 24bit/88kHz, 24bit/96kHz, 24bit/176kHz, and 24bit/192kHz tracks (as confirmed by moOde in its Audio Info window) without interruption or audible artifacts.

My Network seems to be Ok.

JRiver and USBridge are connected to the same switch
DHCP is On with static adress IP based on mac adress for both JRiver and USBridge


When I switch the USBridge Sig for a USBridge (previous model - running Dietpi + GmRender) I can play 192K files flawlessly

     The "system config menu" from moode only propose 32 bit kernel for the "Kernel Architecture" combo box
      is this normal ?  as you were talking about Moode 6.4.0 (64 bit kernel)

The "64-bit" not listed in dropdown for kernel arch is a bug thats fixed in upcoming 6.4.1. update

If swapping in the USBridge, which uses a different Ethernet chipset than the SIG, fixes the problem it would suggest a possible compatibility issue between the SIG's Ethernet chipset / driver and the Switch. 

Maybe when the switch and the SIG auto-negotiate the connection it ends up being only half-duplex or something like that.

One option is to switch to the Comfast WiFi adapter and use the 5gHz band :-)

WiFi works a treat with moOde 6.4.0 on my RPi4B. I use the 5GHz band because it's got lots of channels and is still relatively uncrowded here. I suppose I ought to try the 2.4GHz band to see if there's enough mutual interference from all the other devices in the vicinity to cause audible problems with moOde. mañana
