moodecfg, headless setup & raspberry 2
#1
Hi,

I'm having some troubles setting up moode 5 on my raspberry 2 > Kali > Mamboberry HD Dac+ (v2).

I always used to set it up headless with the moodecfg. I seemed to have finds a mention in the forums, that the current moodecfg.txt docs are outdated? If this still the case, is there any specific adaptations I need to do in order to make it work? Or should it work out of the box (of course after putting in the SSID and password).

Since my setup is rather locked into my stereo, moving it to my router and connecting over ethernet is not very easy. I tried to install on a raspberry 3 over ethernet, setup up the wifi (which works on the onboard wifi) and then plugin into the streamer, however this doesn't work either. Tried 2 wifi dongles, both won't work in the raspberry pi 2/moode 5.

My current guess is, although I have no access to logfiles, is that it might not recognise the wifi adapter:

Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0bda:8172 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8191SU 802.11n WLAN Adapter

This one also doesn't support the wifi-hotspot as far as I understand. Is the r8712u module installed on moode 5 by default?

It currently still works fine on Moode 4, but it's always nice to upgrade Smile

Thnx for your help!

View the Setup guide at the link below. It has the moodecfg.txt template.

I'm not sure I understand your other issue, Can you clarify?

Hey Tim,

Thnx, I used the guide and the template, it didn't work (the wifi didn't come up at least) so this is why I tried some other stuff.

The other issue is a result of my tinkering and I thought: maybe the specific wifi adapter kernel module wasn't included in moode 5? But it might be another issue ass well.

Thnx!

Try again because of this fix of version 6.4.1.:

Code:
- FIX: Auto-config fails if moodecfg.txt contains CRLF
