Thumbnail generation stops after one fourth of library
#1
Hi,

when generating album cover thumbnail cash, the process stopped after 293 albums. The remaining 900 or so albums are not processed. It stops at the first album of the artist it currently processes. I deleted the artist where it stopped and restarted the process. It managed to process until album 308 and stopped there.

Obviously most albums show no cover art in the UI.

I cleared library cash, re generated album cover thumbnail with no avail. The album cover generator stops at the same location each time.

I am using Moose 4.3.
Music is organized in Artist Album structure.
The music library is sitting on a NAS and files are mp3.
Each album folder contains a jpg with the cover art e.g "Bruce Springsteen - Born In The U.S.A..jpg"
Most mp3 have also embedded cover art but not all.
Playing music from the library works great with moode!. The only issue are the missing covers.

thanks for any hint how to fix this

Before the devs reply here with some clever info I do my little bit Smile

I always name the cover file folder.jpg in each folder and is always 100% displayed correctly
<marquee behavior="alternate" scrolldelay=150

Hi Tim

thx for coming answering so fast. Highly appreciated.

Renaming the jpgs to folder.jpg did not solve the issue.

The log output does not show the completion message for thmcache.php nor does it show any errors. This suggests that it has crashed for some reason.

The completion message would appear as below in the log.

Code:
thmcache: Done: 1531 album dirs processed

Maybe there is a corrupt directory, song file or image.

I would try examining the directory, files and image that would have been processed next after the last album name listed in the VIEW status line.

The other potential issue I noticed is that u are using a Hifiberry DAC+Pro and WiFi. The 1st gen DAC+Pro has a hardware defect which results in interference in the WiFi 2.4G band. It can cause unstable WiFi connection.

Also check free space on the SDCard to rule out "out of free space" condition.
