Updates to Radio database
#1
Last night I ran through the current predefined radio stations in moOde 4.4.

Here are 7 which were not responsive along with proposed fixes where I could find one. Will probably get fixed in next release, but for now you can manually edit the entries of any stations of interest.

  1. Czech Radio Classical 256K
    Error: Connection timed out
    Fix: Found three working streams
    http://radio.cesnet.cz/cgi-bin/cro-d-dur-256-ogg.pls
    https://api.play.cz/radio/croddur-256.mp3.m3u
https://api.play.cz/radio/croddur128.aac.m3u  <- ok, not 256K, but perhaps comparable

  2. The Finest Amsterdam
    Error: 403 Forbidden
    Fix: ??

  3. KUVO
Error: None, but can upgrade to 128K stream
    New URL:  http://kuvo-ice.streamguys.org/kuvo-aac-128

  4. KUVO HD2
    Error: 404 Not available
Fix: can upgrade to new 128K stream
    New URL: http://kuvo-ice.streamguys.org/kuvohd2-aac-128

  5. Radio X Brussels
    Error: Connection timed out
    Fix: ??

  6. Rock Radio1
    Error: Connection refused
    Fix: ??

  7. Somehow Jazz
    Error: Connection timed out
It turns out this station has converted to paid-subscription
    Fix: Delete

I don't doubt there are other radio stations like KUVO which work as-is but have improved streams available. I just don't know how to automate a test for them. I only stumbled on this one by accident.

Regards,
Kent

None of the BBC 320K stations work either…

Or could be they are blocked here in Belgium?

They play here in the UK, and I think they are UK only.
I have just added Virgin Radio: http://radio.virginradio.co.uk/stream
That may also be UK only.

Yeah, I was trying not to be parochial in my work. AFAIK, the BBC 320K stations work great but we colonials haven't been paying our TV License fee  Rolleyes

Must be the Brexit in our case (without being political…)

Update: And to avoid any misunderstandings, this was meant as a joke...  Dodgy

Tongue  Maybe it's about time we (us Brits) pay something back to the 'colonials'... let's sponsor each of us one of the Moode great-grandchildren of the Boston Tea Party Heart Smile

@TheOldPresbyop
I'm very sorry, the my previous message was addressed to @TheOldPresbyop NOT @JST1963

@JST1963
Believe it or not Brexit would not have anything to do with this state of facts... As much as the BBC (TV and Radio) is a state corporation it is sponsored by the state (via the British people' s taxed income and National Insurance Contribution... sorry to be so pedantic) with an added contribution (actually a tax as it is compulsory for every household owning a Television Set). I'm making an educated guess that some more costly ventures, namely BBC iPlayer and any HiRes streaming would be geo-locked (available to the U.K. only) for this very reason...

Me too (not the infamous #MeToo Angel )

An idea, get to this site https://www.streamfinder.com/  click on JAZZ button or enter in the broser https://www.streamfinder.com/internet-ra...genre/Jazz ; you'll get lots of links. If you'd rather use Moode for playing the any of the stations query the details of that particular station and make it a permanet fixture in Moode using the tools provided by Tim & The Amazing Crew.

Bear in mind that from time to time the Internet radio stations are dropping from the face of the digital Earth or get clever and ask for money... exactly the current topic.
