Idea: Request for future versions: playing FLAC/CUE-files
#1
Hi Tim,

This subject has been brought up before I think and I've been reading some stuff about it...
It's about playing cue-files.

I found out that the following commands results in loading the cue file as a playlist and playing the first song of this list

Code:
mpc load "NAS/MusicAtWork/Complete Albums/Mike Oldfield/Tubular Bells 2003/Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells 2003.cue"
mpc play 1

The nice thing about is that you don't see just one huge FLAC-file, but all the individual tracks of these FLAC/CUE files.

Any chance this can be implemented in a future version of moOde? Maybe by simply adding all the existing CUE-files to the playlists, no?

Thx,
Johan

moOde already supports cue sheets. I haven't tested it in years but the code is still there for listing them in the Library Folder view.

I know, but i just doesn't look OK...
In Cover Art mode and  Library mode only the single FLAC file is visible. When you select it, you just get that one single big file in your playlist, not the individual tracks.

In Folder mode, you do get both, the one FLAC file, and the Cue sheet. Selecting this last one gives you all the individual tracks, and that's what I (we) want...

Folder view

It would be great if in all the views the cue sheet would be listed... :-)

Ok got it. For displaying them in the Library Tag and Album views there are a couple of Pull Requests in the moOde Git repo from @pcasto that address this along with another PR from Chris Rudman for enhancing the Library. The plan is to get these PR's integrated for an update to 5.0 :-)
