moOde 5.3 status
#1
Hi,

Just a quick status update on moOde 5.3.

The coding for 5.3 has been finished for a while but the dev team is waiting for one particular 4.19.y kernel bug report to be analyzed to determine why hostapd crashes with particular WiFi adapters. The crash doesn't occur with previous 4.14.98 kernel which suggests a regression in 4.19.y. The bug report contains a full crash dump so there is an excellent chance the kernel devs will be able to debug it.

Here are the tentative release notes for 5.3. It contains a really cool preamp mode for Audiophonics 9028/9038 DAC and HiFiberry DAC+ADC, Disconnect buttons on the Renderer Active screens plus some nice updates and important bug fixes.

Code:
########################################################
//
// 5.3 2019-MM-DD
//
########################################################

New features

- NEW: Preamp mode for Audiophonics 9028/9038 DAC and HiFiberry DAC+ADC
- NEW: Disconnect button added to "Renderer Active" screens

Updates

- UPD: Bump to kernel ...
- UPD: Leave MPD random play alone for playqueue cmds
- UPD: Add Name Service Switcher package

Bug fixes

- FIX: Hostapd not starting due to service being masked
- FIX: Show/hide track list between Tag and Album views
- FIX: Artist - Album filter not using exact match
- FIX: Lazyload not activated after search in Tag view
- FIX: Function getYIQ return value not being parsed as int

Thanks for the update and the hard work!

Regarding the lazy loading, can you change the default threshold value in lazyload.js to 200? Images now load as they come in the screen but not just before. My MoOde install feels a lot smoother with a higher threshold value.

Yes, in-place update. There will also be an ISO image.

I can certainly experiment with the threshold value in testing but I'd like to see more reports confirming that bumping it from 0 to 200 makes an improvement before I made such a change permanent.

6 is image-only due to the change in operating system.

Eh, sorry, I got confused a bit. My stable 5.x moode says it has version 5.3.1. Maybe you mean, version 5.4? (since 5.4 is currently is on beta?)
