Solved: shairport-sync typo
#1
Hi Tim,

I have this msg in syslog:

Code:
shairport-sync: Invalid disable_standby_mode option choice "uto". It should be "always", "auto" or "never". It is set to "never".

Probably a typo problem somewhere. (moOde 5.3)

Options are default for airplay, i just have to restart the receiver to repro the msg.

//        You can use the following substitutions:
//                %h for the hostname,
//                %H for the Hostname (i.e. with first letter capitalised (ASCII only)),

The conf file has the correct value. The syslog message is prolly harmless but I'll post the issue to Shairport-sync Git repo. MikeB has already posted an rc0 bugfix release of 3.3 production.

Code:
disable_standby_mode = "while_active";

Ok nice, except for the msg, airplay work fine.

It looks like there is actually a bug in the shairport-sync.conf file.

To fix it do the following

Edit file
Code:
sudo nano /etc/shairport-sync.conf

Change
Code:
disable_standby_mode = "when_active"

To
Code:
disable_standby_mode = "auto"
