moOde 6.3.0 status
#1
Hi,

Just a quick status on upcoming moOde 6.3.0 release coming this October :-)

I decided to include an option on System Config to select either 32-bit or 64-bit kernel. The 64-bit kernel is to be considered for testing only and driver support is somewhat limited.  I also included the latest MPD 0.21.15 release for testing. It looks like it includes some important bug fixes :-)

Code:
########################################################
//
// 6.3.0 2019-MM-DD
//
########################################################

New features

- NEW: Support for Allo USBridge SIG including enhanced Eth/USB driver
- NEW: Support for Comfast CF-912AC dual-band WiFi adapter
- NEW: Library option for Album grouping by Artist, Album or Year
- NEW: Option for 64-bit Linux kernel (testing)

Updates

- UPD: Bump to Linux kernel 4.19.75 build #1270
- UPD: Bump to MPD 0.21.15 (testing)
- UPD: Change to Broadcom SoC pin numbering in rotenc.c
- UPD: Include audio formats and platform in Audio info and moode log
- UPD: Shairport-sync config file with additional options
- UPD: Show/hide Play history item on system menu

Bug fixes

- FIX: Text color for HUD playlist line 2
- FIX: Broken CSS for Players modal
- FIX: Playqueue cmds not turning off Auto-shuffle properly
- FIX: Position of CUE sheet icon and others
- FIX: Order and case of entries in radio station pls files

I just moved from volumio to moOde and I have to say, I am endlessly impressed.
As my third post on this forum please let me say thank you so much. It's fantastic.

Hey Muppet (which one are you?), say thank you a few more times and then start with little (or big) donations  Tongue .
Every dollar helps. It's the only thing that can keep this thing alive. A forum costs money.

And it's good that every body who used to play Volumio is now coming to moOde. But there has to be some competition... Competition is good as long as we are winning...

The answer is right in the first few lines on the splash screen at http://moodeaudio.org/  ... S(p)arky is not part of the 'Raspberry Pi family'.

Hello Tim,

Will the new version of ashuffle (v2.01) also be part of the upcoming update?

Kind regards,

Frank

Hi Frank,

I noticed it the other day when a 6.3.0 test build failed on the shuffle section. I haven't had time to explore the new version other than to recognize that it requires a different compile recipe.

Is there a feature in the new version that you are interested in?

Hello Tim,

I am interested in solving the earlier mentioned Limitations on ashuffle with large music libraries.

Kind regards,

Frank
