What are the symptoms?
How can the issue be reproduced by someone else?

Just saying " it doesn't seems work properly." is not sufficient.

Good morning Tim
Thanks for your reply
I can see and select Moode_Airplay from my idevices but the sound does not come from the speakers.
I can see and select Moode_Airplay from the iTunes interface but the sound does not come from the speakers.
I can see and select Moode_Airplay from the iPad airplay interface but the sound does not come from the speakers.

I know that my system has not problems because I'm currently using piCorePlayer without problems.

Hope someone can reproduce this issue and give me a solution.
I really like Moode's interface and above all, the sound of Moode's internal MPD and I wouldn't want to be forced to use Logitech Media Player anyway
Many thaks for your work.
Hope to read you soon.

@gpellicci

You still haven't told us anything we can work with to reproduce your symptom. Airplay is working fine here with various moOde players driven from iPhone and/or iPad.

One thought: when in Airplay mode, the volume is set by the controlling app, not by moOde. IIRC the volume is set to zero when starting the Airplay renderer. You are turning up the volume using your iPad or whatever, right?

Kent

Hi Old Presbyope
Thank for your suggestion.
The volume of my devices is turned up...
I don't know what I need to check...
I start iTunes and select Moode_Airplay from its volume options (see attached picture 1)
The volume is turned up in iTunes and also the general volume of the Mac is up...
The sound doesn't comes out from loudspeaker.
When I switch off the Airplay inside iTunes and I try to play a song using the MPD of Moode I receive the message shown in the attached picture 2 (MPD error) and I need to reboot Moode to restore the output of the sound.

I Tried all the others player for Raspberry Pi like Max2Play, piCorePlayer, Rune Audio, Volumio, Moode Audio with alternated fortunes...
Hope this can help...
Thanks a lot.

The MPD error indicates some other component in moOde is hogging the ALSA output.

- Start with a fresh image
- Configure it for your USB audio device
- Since you set MPD volume to "Disabled", ensure that your downstream Volume control is adjusted properly
- Verify that MPD plays
- Only turn on the Airplay renderer in moOde. Leave all other renderers off
- Verify that Airplay works

If not then try changing the bit depth to 32-bit and optionally the sample rate in Airplay config.

If still no success then it's not obvious to me what's happening in your config. Airplay works perfectly on my end.

Hi Tim
many thanks for your suggestion...
I restarted from the scratch as you said.
As soon I changed the bit depth to 32 bit inside Airplay config (without change the sample rate) Airplay started work.
Now I activated all Renderers and all seems work fine.

Great job!
Thank you.

Nice :-)

Some audio devices only accept 32-bit word length and AFAIK shairport-sync does not detect this automatically and so user has to set it manually...
