Hiding Moode in a Local Network
#1
Hello.

Right now I live in an apartment in a guest house. I connect to the internet by a network that is also used by other guest.

My question is if it is posible to prevent other users access to the files in the hard disk I connect to moode. I use a repeater to try to make more difficult that someone connects to moode while its in use and mess with it, but moode still appears on the network, leaving acces to all my library to whatever connects to it.

It is there a way to make the files, if not unredeable, at least unwritable?

Thanks for your time.

Edit /etc/samba/smb.conf and change

read only = No

to

read only = Yes
