Absolutely +1 to that.  Cool

Yes, you would type the cmd dmesg at the SSH prompt.

Open moOde System config screen and scroll down to Local Services. Turn on the SSH term server and then OPEN it. The userid is Pi and password is moodeaudio.

Tim
none of my 2 Raspberry's (including a brand new one) records Hifi Berry Digi + Pro, while it's saved in the Customize menu.
What did I miss?

You set the I2S device in Audio config, not Customize,

The Setup guide can be viewed in the About screen.

Menu, Configure, System
Menu, About
View guide

or in moOde Git repo

Thank you for your answer.
After exit and resinsertion of the microSD card, Moode 4.3 recognizes Hifi Berry Digi + Pro (a click on "set" validates the choice instead of erasing it, like yesterday ...).
But ... No sound comes out (while the volume is full).
I am clueless.
I am a newbee in Linux and do not understand how to use the links that you gave.
When I turn on Moode (with a keyboard and a screen on the Raspberry), the lines of code scroll, then the screen turns off.
How to modify the code?
Forgive my question of Boeotian.
Pierre

Ok, Tim.

Here's the top bit. After than, there are hundreds of lines that repeat the "Under voltage detected! and Voltage normalized lines.

Next time please put log output in a code box as I've already done to make it easier to read. Code box icon is 3rd from the right on the button bar.

The log indicates the I2S driver is hifiberry-dacplus which is not the driver that would be configured for the  Mamboberry HIFI DAC+ selection in Audio config, and thus it failed registration.
Code:
[    4.106648] snd-rpi-hifiberry-dacplus soc:sound: ASoC: CPU DAI (null) not registered - will retry
[    4.128317] snd-rpi-hifiberry-dacplus soc:sound: ASoC: CODEC DAI pcm512x-hifi not registered - will retry
[    4.160482] snd-rpi-hifiberry-dacplus soc:sound: ASoC: CODEC DAI pcm512x-hifi not registered - will retry
[    4.330663] snd-rpi-hifiberry-dacplus soc:sound: ASoC: CODEC DAI pcm512x-hifi not registered - will retry
[    4.340613] snd-rpi-hifiberry-dacplus soc:sound: ASoC: CODEC DAI pcm512x-hifi not registered - will retry
[    4.544129] pcm512x 1-004d: Failed to reset device: -121
[    4.544505] pcm512x: probe of 1-004d failed with error -121

If your audio device is a Mamboberry HIFI DAC+ then choose that as the entry for I2S audio device in the Audio config screen and click SET.

Then from SSH enter the command below to display the config.txt file and verify that dtoverlay=hifiberry-dac

cat /boot/config.txt

Then after rebooting Open MPD config screen and click APPLY.

Here's the top bit. After than, there are hundreds of lines that repeat the "Under voltage detected! and Voltage normalized lines.

Seriously? Then you have another issue that should be addressed---poor power, whether due to an inadequate power supply or due to an inadequate connecting cable, or both.

Are you attaching the Western Digital USB storage device directly to the RPi or via a powered USB hub? If the former, then perhaps the additional current draw of this device is causing excessive voltage drop in the power cable, leading to the under-voltage warning.

Regards,
Kent

PS - these warning lines come from code in the Linux kernel, not from the moOde application.

After stopping / emptying the memory / rebooting, Moode 4.3 finally plays music.

Better quality than Moode 4.2.
