4.4 Sound Quality
#1
Curious if anyone has opinions on version 4.4 sound quality improvements over version 4.3?

3.8.4 was my favorite until 4.3. Thanks for any discussion.

I thought 4.3 had better sound than any previous versions, but I haven't noticed any particular change going to 4.4.

If you don’t use Bluetooth (or I guess uncompressed audio in aiff/wav) try updating to the new mpd version per Tim’s instructions in the 4.3 -> 4.4 thread (I think that’s where it is).

3.8.4 still better than 4.x but that has to do with possibility to switch to RT kernel...

Doesn’t it depend how You use the pi.
I’m using it just as transport and don’t
think or hope it should make any difference
in sound, what version I use.
I have disabled all possible settings that
might have any influence on sound.

I’m hoping of a “light” version of Moode without
any settings that might affect the sound ?

On my opinion the sound quality is the best in comparision to older version and for another similar project called "Volumio"
I'm very impressive for this. Now i test moOde with Raspberry Pi 3B+ with DAC: HiBerry Dac Pro+. Its great project !
