Solved: New mood install, can't connect NAS
#11
Sir

My apologies.

The Win 10 network is working and the music sits on a PC on its own HDD. All PC's have static IP Addresses. Sharing has been enabled and everyone on the network can see the music files. On the Music HDD there are many folders each dedicated to an artist.

I have tried the "SCAN" function, but it fails to locate the file....I will try again now...no nothing.

I can say w confidence that just going to a folders properties and making it shared is NOT enough. Under settings goto Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings and turn on most of the stuff that is turned off by default....then it will work...oh and are you using the "ver=3.0" advanced option in Moode?

Sir - Thank you

Yes I have done all the windows stuff. All PC's can share the files but not moode.

I do not understand:

are you using the "ver=3.0" advanced option in Moode?

Can you please explain?

In the Moode config where you set up the NAS under the advanced section down at the bottom options: you want these options, vers=3.0,ro,dir_mode=0777,file_mode=0777

That what works w my Win10

Hi Tim

Not sure what/how to show this....The "NAS" is another Win 10 PC connected via a switch to the network. It has many shared HDD on it. It works with other programmes.

Sorry it took so long to get back

I believe he means the screen in moode. Config > Sources > Create NAS source.
