Problem: Improve moOde's performance
#1
Dear all,

A Happy, Healthy and Inspiring New Year for you and .. your team !

I am proud to use and promote the MoOde application to others.

My iPad is maybe not the fastest in the world but a good tool to discover an application’s performance.

>> What I am missing in MoOde is an A-Z list of composers, to prevent a huge amount of scrolling.

Example:

A  Adele
   Aaron Neville

B Barb Jungr
   Bachman Turner Overdrive

Maybe it is a good moment to evaluate the database and think about using a real performant database like MariaDB which is supported under Debian Stretch
as the database which is used nowadays gives me the impression of an intelligent flat file.

As music collections grow, the need for a performant database might grow too.

Thanks in advance,
Cor van Zundert.

You're not wrong about the database in question, but it's part of the underlying MPD codebase. I've found effectively zero documentation about it or about its APIs. My guess is that this issue would have to be taken up with the MPD maintainer.

Kent
