Weird this has not been requested before (or did I do a bad job at searching the forum?), but can we have song ratings be read from the file tags and displayed, also with an option to set the rating? The conventional 5-star system with 0.5-star step would be ideal.
A minor issue, but I've notice some strange behaviour around what is accepted for the "Bandwidth" for the parametric EQ (using the latest MoodeAudio 6.5.2):
The tooltip says "you must enter a value between .12 and 8", but I found that:
0.12 - works
0.13 - "you must enter a valid value"
0.14 - "you must enter a valid value"
0.15 - works
0.16 - works
0.17 - "you must enter a valid value"
0.18 (and above)- works
I discovered this as I wanted to use 0.14 (having converted Q factor of 10). 0.15 is close enough, but thought I'd flag this up anyway.
I have a rpi z wh + Hifiberry Dac+Dsp running Moode audio
In web UI Moode -> audio -> MPD, I have set volume to hardware
When used as UPnP renderer, I can adjust volume in Android BubbleUPnP and can verify by ssh to rpi and there use command dsptoolkit get-volume which shows the DSP changes volume if volume buttons on the phone is pushed.
However in Airplay, I see that as soon as I connect to Airplay the hardware volume is set to 0dB 100% (and 1.002 ; why not 1.000?), so it seems Moode can change it. (and a few seconds after disconnectin it restores the HW vol as it was before connecting)
Is it expected that the HW volume is fixed at 0dB (I would have expected this to be the case only for SW vol), and in any case: can I change something such that when I connect through Airplay the HW volume is not touched and if I adjust volume on my Mac or through Tuneblade the volume adjusts the hardware volume?
Hi. New user of MoodeAudio, and really liking the playback quality so far. But, I could use a hand ...
I am using the HiFiBerry digi+io hat with a raspberry pi4b and MoodeAudio. I am trying to use this setup to record my vinyl collection from a digital receiver I have that has a very nice A/D converter in it.
If I feed a toslink or s/pdif coax signal in and use “arecord” with a 16 bit 44.1khz source signal and the S16_LE specifier, everything works fine into a wav file; it sounds good and I can play it with e.g., VLC. If I use a 24 bit 96khz source signal with the S24_LE specifier, toslink will record but the music is buried under wide band noise and plays slow. The coax input acts as if there is no signal. Only the S24_LE and S16_LE specifiers are available, so I can't try any of the other formats I have seen some people recommend.
Any advice? Has anybody gotten the digi+ I/O to work with 24/96 inputs
ello, all.
I'm new to moode, started testing about a week ago. Loving it!
Didn't get Spotify Connect to work with it though, even after reading the posts about it here on the forum. So, I've made a fresh install and minimal configuration of moode, and got the same results. After enabling the Spotify renderer in the Audio config, nothing happens (even if I clear credentials, restart) and then the watchdog start looping trying to get the renderer going...
So, am posting the results here to see if anybody has any ideas, please.
Quick notes about the setup:
Raspberry Pi B v1.2
Audio Interface is a USB interface (Focusrite, USB-powered from the Pi)
Music library on a HDD with its own power and SATA to USB adapter.
Main changes to the moode setting: no software volume control, fixed IP address, pi to performance mode, turned off unused resources (bluetooth, ethernet)
I should mention that I do have a wifi repeater with the same SSID, but for this last install I turned it off, just to ensure PC, phone and pi/moode are connected to the same router (not that it should matter, but just in case)
Many thanks!
Here's Spotify Connect working between my phone and PC.
And here's the system (haven't asked for a re-scan of the music library on the HDD yet):

I have problem to connect to wifi with my RPI 1b with outside wifi dongle Tp-link TLWN722N v2 - RPI sees this dongle, scans wifi networks find all its around but not connect with.
To exclude the hardware malfunction, I inserted a sd card with Volumio into the same RPI 1b and the connection to the wifi network proceeded instantly ...
p.s. Volumio has 4.19.86 #1283 and moode 4.19.97+ #1293 if it can make a difference.
Is there a way to add a password to the setting menu, every time some setting is mixed up by somebody that look into the settings
I have changed that in Rune, but I cannot change anything in Moode. I don't know why

Hi everyone, I tried a raspberry pi 4 with 2gb in this configuration:
raspberry pi 4 + to isolator + to kali reclocker and I was unable to get it working. With the raspberry pi 3 b this configuration works regularly. Can it not work with pi4?
Thank you all for your attention, greetings, alessandro.
I've just installed moOde on my rpi4 and it's great, but I seem only to have 48 stations listed in the web interface, out of a possible 170 `.pls` files in `/var/lib/mpd/music/RADIO`. I've tried refreshing the MPD database in settings (and refreshing the browser, even trying a new one) but that has made no difference.
I am thinking of building another Raspberry Pi Moode player for the bedroom. The one I currently use is a Pi 3B+ with an IQAudio DAC hat and a 500gb hard drive with all my music stored on it and is connected to my main HI Fi.
I was wondering if I was to build another Pi would I able to connect to the other pi's hard drive and stream from that?
I was thinking of using a Pi Zero with a cheap DAC hat to connect to my 2.1 computer speaker system that I currently use with my TV.
I could use Plex through my Roku but it doesn't support gapless playback (and never will I believe as the dev's can't be bothered) and it was because of this I moved over to the Moode Pi based system.
I don't really want to go down the NAS route if preferred.
