Looks like I've have to set up two channels per station..... flac to get the superior SQ, and AAC to tell me what it is..............

I don't know whether you know about these flacs from Radio Paradise. The flacm links appear to have working metadata, but are described as "experimental".......

I tried them a while back and there were some issues with audio glitches and fail to connect.

RE: Upcoming moOde 7 series - suzywong - 11-22-2020

Thought there might be. I've been reading through the Naim forum's "streaming" threads, and see that at one point they had called in a guy from Paradise's tech support to sort out issues with their flac  streams.

They appeared to have sorted them out at least with regard to Naim's own streamers. I'll play around with them tomorrow - that is unless FedEx decide to deliver 3 litres of gloss paint, at which point I will be instructed "get thee to the bedroom and get on with it".........

Edit: Indeed, Fedex "let me down", and delivered the paint........see you next week!.ROFL

RE: Upcoming moOde 7 series - Tim Curtis - 11-23-2020

Thanks to the crew and upmpdcli dev JF Dockes we have debugged and fixed a cover art issue and are going to deploy a new 1.5.1 upmpdcli renderer in our upcoming 7 release :-)

Quote:and perhaps the Kali Bug where it will not play 24bit has been addressed too ?

Normally I only examine kernel commits when I'm bumping to a particular kernel for example the 5.4.77 kernel contains a commit from Allo for the Piano plus driver.
https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware/commit/cc9ff6c7d1b9be5465c24c75941b049f94a6bd32
https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/pull/3943

The Kali reclocker has no kernel driver, in fact the kernel doesn't even know a reclocker is sitting between the Pi's I2S output and the audio device. IIRC the 24-bit issue with the Kali has something to do with it's design or firmware and is not fixable but you would have to ask Allo about that. The workaround is to just set SoX to 32 bit / * kHz.
Appreciate your info....:-)  I have tried to get a response from Allo on several occasions.....no information from them :-(

Their initial advice waaay-back was that it was a Kernel issue. Hence my query whether the commits in the new Kernel addressed this.
