Just to confirm, I did some extra testing now that I know what I am looking at.
Upon hitting disconnect on he BlueZ page, I see mpd audio local switch to Bluetooth.
I can then switch it back to local and everything is fine but clearly that is not ideal. Any thoughts on why that's switching upon disconnect?

Excellent, great to hear. Assume this was already in there and not something new.
Just glad we were able to identify the real issue and happy to hear there is a fix incoming in a future release. appreciate the support.
