This is how Firefox has always behaved on reboot.
With the tab remaining open the address will show the last operation info for some time (caching?) before finally resolving.
As you say, Kent, you can close the tab and reopen to clear it but I have always just backspaced the tab address until only the MoOde ip section remains and hit enter.
