The symptoms suggest the Allo DSP files which are necessary for the Subwoofer modes are not installed.
These files cannot be bundled in a Linux distribution because of license restrictions. They have to be downloaded and installed by end user.

if I set the volume to 0, I hear the sw anyway.
what am I doing wrong

Try setting MPD volume control to Hardware.

don't work
no matter what i do .... i turn the player volume to 0 ( left and right channel are still ) and the sw always go on diligently ... bam bam bam
normally, all channels should be silent if i turn the player volume to 0!?
