I lost the sorting, with the configuration "Ignore articles" -> a,an,the :-(
I'm doing something wrong?

It's working ok on my end.
Post a screen shot so we can see what's not sorted correctly.

Before it also seemed to me that the Artists column was linked to ARTIST, and now linked to ARTIST_ALBUM

It looks ok to me.
The Alan Parson Project is sorted into the A's instead of the T's. It would be same for The Beatles which would be sorted into the B's instead of the T's

OK, you posted an image of a list of folders. To us it seems to be the order we would expect when "the" is to be ignored in the sort.
In what order did you expect them to appear? Don't post another image, just type a list of entries.

You juste have to set Ignore articles blank and The Alan Parson will be sorting to T
