ETA: If the device has its own volume control then make sure its at a high enough level.

I keep it at about 80% but have always tested turning it up at each test.

@Jakekoe

To follow up on a previous reply of mine.

1) I found a Pi model 3B v1.2 in my goodies bin. I booted a fresh copy of moOde 9.0.3 on it. The selected audio output device is a Creative Tech USB BT-W2 adapter driving Sennheiser headphones. Both the Airplay renderer and the Bluetooth renderer are working for me when I stream via Airplay from a music app on my iPad and via Bluetooth from a music app via on my Google Pixel 6A phone. Listening to WQXR on my headphones now from RadioDroid on the Pixel.

One curiosity: after I enabled the Bluetooth renderer on the moOde player I had to reboot the player before it was visible to the Bluetooth subsystems on my phone and iPad. I'm not sure what that's about.

Bottom line: your problem has me flummoxed.

2) As a footnote to the Airplay discussion, I noticed on my iPad that when I go to enable its Bluetooth subsystem, the menu says "AirDrop, AirPlay, FindMy, and Location Services use Bluetooth." The inclusion of AirDrop and AirPlay in this list is a surprise to me but, be that as it may, the moOde Airplay renderer isn't looking for AirPlay communications over Bluetooth.

Regards,
Kent

I discovered that by switching the named i2s device to Generic-i2s (i2s-dac) from Generic+I2s (hifiberry-dac), I can get my android to connect by BT and send music but I can’t connect with iPad or laptop.

It’s feeling like these other older devices don’t know what kind of BT device it is. I can see Moode Bluetooth but it seems like it doesn’t know what to do with it? Sometimes I can get them to “connect” and I can modify the type of device to speaker but doesn’t output.

Not sure if this is helpful…

Did switching to the Generic driver fix the "no sound" issue?

Sorry for the delay.

Yes it appears that the Bluetooth is now working for both the iPad and Android.

I'm still having a problem connecting and sending music to Moode from my 2 laptops but it's definitely working so I believe this is now a Bluetooth connection issue with my laptops that I'll figure out.

Apparently it's was a driver issue for my PecanPi. Any chance of having a PecanPi HAT driver in a future update?

Thanks so much for your help and all the incredible work that's gone into Moode. I'm really grateful!
