IMO behavior should be consistent between the 2 view. I prefer library behavior, look more natural to me.

This is a bug. Fixed for next beta :-)

I have this error: mpd[8693]: fatal_error: error parsing metadata item "+comment"

If i remove comment option in mpd.conf, then mpd can restart, and no more broken ui.

This is a bug. Fixed in next beta :-)

It is but between the record Co's odd collection of tabs and my erratic tagging over the years on material I ripped and transferred from vinyl, it is much easier for me to just organize the collection into folders. I have a widely varied collection from obscure world music to opera and most places In between. The tags are a mess and I have better things to do than try to clean themup!
Though I guess I must be the exception.
Thanks for your wonderful work! I enjoy it every day!

You and I must both be exceptions.

I like to order my music by artist / album (by release date) / track within album, exactly as if I was accessing my physical vinyl records.

We surely can't be alone in that!

Folder view is not going anywhere, just the RADIO list has been moved into the Radio view where it really belongs and this will enable search to work properly. :-) We are also looking at a future enhancement where Genre, Bitrate, etc are added to the radio station database to allow the station list to be organized and searched more easily.

As has been previously mentioned Folder view is essential for Classical collections, collection with incomplete tagging, etc and it's the only view that has the nice Advanced search screen.

Maybe someone could start a "Folder view improvements" thread.

Looks like 4.19.y breaks the WiFi regulatory database

4.19.27
Code:
pi@rp3:~ $ dmesg | grep cfg80211
[    3.917122] cfg80211: Loading compiled-in X.509 certificates for regulatory database
[    3.974634] cfg80211: Loaded X.509 cert 'sforshee: 00b28ddf47aef9cea7'
[    3.978119] cfg80211: failed to load regulatory.db

4.14.98
Code:
pi@rp3:~ $ dmesg | grep cfg80211
pi@rp3:~ $

Below are cmds to revert to 4.14.98 kernel. It just takes a few minutes to install.
Code:
# kernel ver 4.14.98
echo "y" | sudo PRUNE_MODULES=1 rpi-update a08ece3d48c3c40bf1b501772af9933249c11c5b

# cleanup
sudo rm -rf /lib/modules.bak
sudo rm -rf /boot.bak
sudo apt-get clean

sudo reboot

Another question on folder view, and apologies if it has been asked already (I admit I have not read the entire thread): I noticed that the "Update this folder" option has gone.
Was it done on purpose?
I found it really handy. Now if I add an album I would need to rescan my entire collection, 3500+ albums / 43000+ tracks, which I find inefficient.
Thanks... (I still love Moode though!)

RE: moOde 5 Beta 1 - Tim Curtis - 03-16-2019

But after adding your Album won't you need to open the Library screen anyway to Update the thumbnail cache?

RE: moOde 5 Beta 1 - jonners - 03-16-2019

Resanning a whole collection can take a minute or more, whereas updating a folder happened in a few seconds.

RE: moOde 5 Beta 1 - franz159 - 03-16-2019

I suspect rescanning my library of 43000+ tracks will take substantially longer than a few minutes.
Doing that now, is there a log where I can double check the actual time taken to re-index the whole library?
Thanks
franz

If I am just rescanning my library (37k tracks) for a few added files it doesn't take that long, but it's still longer than rescanning a folder or two.
