Not seeing Moode Spotify - uv101 - 06-19-2019
Hi All......
Just rebuilt using the latest image 5.3.1.
All up and running on the network (NAS library scanned & SSH connectivity etc.) except no Spotify.
I have the the Spotify renderer set to on, changed the name and I've set some of the options like the bitrate to 320kbs.
My device is not showing up in Spotify connect from other devices.
Any suggestions??

1. Verify that librespot is running. The command returns the PID of librespot if its running otherwise it returns nothing.

2499Restarted my desktop and iPhone and I still cant see the Moode device listed on either.
I can see all my other devices (TV's, Firesticks, Echo's etc.)
Its almost like its not announcing itself as a spotify connect device to the network

Hi Tim,
Yep I get the same screen with all my other devices that are connect capable......
(cant easily attach a picture but it looks like yours with all my devices other than the Moode Pi
I changed the bitrate to 320k and initial volume to 60......
Pretty sure it was working previously with 4.x......I can go back to the previous SD card and check

OK so I went back to the previous build SD card.........
Its working fine with the v4.x build......ALSA device is different in the dump???
Also initial volume 0 and bitrate 160.
I've tried both of those (volume and bitrate) parameters in the 5.x build but they made no difference.

I'm not seeing any issues on my end with 5.3.1. and Spotify. You will probably need to run it manually with verbose debug logging enabled.
1. Turn on Debug logging in System config
2. Turn on Spotify in Audio config
3. Reboot
4. Print the moode log and look for the librespot launch string
moodeutl -l
5. Paste that string into a text file and remove > /dev/null 2>&1 & from the end, then add -v to the beginning so its like
librespot -v REST_OF_STRING
6. Revert steps #1 and #2
7. Paste the librespot launch string at the SSH prompt and run it
8. Look for errors in its debug log

I can see Moode Spotify Connect instance on my iPhone but not spotify webclient on chrome or spotify deskstop on my mac.
Once I started to stream to moode from my iphone than I can see on webclient or desktop on my mac
Any suggestions?

So, first of all, this isn't a "similar issue"---you're seeing moOde's Spotify Connect on your iPhone and the OP wasn't---and should have been the start of a new thread instead of the resurrection of a dead one. [Sorry, this is a pet peeve of mine.]
Second, what does "spotify webclient on chrome" mean, specifically?
If I open Spotify.com in the Chrome browser on my Linux laptop, and click on the connect-to a-device icon, I am offered "Listening On/This Web Browser", "Moode3a Spotify", and "MoodeLR Spotify", where the latter two should be self-explanatory. I am not streaming to moOde from any device ATM.
I don't own any Macs and can't comment on that aspect of your issue.
