5.3.1 does not play radios - feh123 - 06-30-2019 Hi I have just installed 5.3.1 on a RPI 3 connected to a WDMyCloud NAS and a Naim streamer. The system plays my music very well. However, and after searching for solutions online, I cannot get any of the radio stations to play. I get the same on screen error message "curl failed to decode: [radio station ip address] unable to connect to server. For info I use a Netgear router in modem only mode (it does the DHCP) and the RPI is wired to this router. I copy paste the moode.log for today info - you can see it was playing my music okay but when I tried to play bbc radio 3 - I get the error. Any help appreciated. 20190630 033906 worker: Maintenance completed 20190630 080432 worker: Job netcfg 20190630 081439 worker: Job netcfg 20190630 083203 worker: Job netcfg 20190630 083913 worker: Job upnpsvc 20190630 084617 worker: Job upnpsvc 20190630 084638 worker: Job upnpsvc 20190630 092448 waitWorker(): Start (sys-config, w_active=0) 20190630 092448 waitWorker(): End (sys-config, w_active=0) 20190630 092451 engine-mpd: Get initial status 20190630 092451 engine-mpd: UI state=(undefined), MPD state=(play) 20190630 092451 engine-mpd: Generating enhanced metadata 20190630 092451 enhanceMetadata(): coverurl: (/coverart.php/NAS%2FNAS%2FBach%20-%20Keyboard%20Concertos%20Nos.%201%2C%202%20%26%204%2F01%20-%20Bach%2C%20J%20S%20-%20Keyboard%20Concerto%20No.%201%20in%20D%20minor%2C%20BWV%201052%20-%20I.%20Allegro.flac) 20190630 092451 enhanceMetadata(): Song file 20190630 092451 engine-mpd: Metadata returned to client: Size=(33) 20190630 092451 engine-mpd: Get initial status 20190630 092451 engine-mpd: UI state=(play), MPD state=(play) 20190630 092451 engine-mpd: Wait for idle timeout 20190630 092500 engine-mpd: Get initial status 20190630 092500 engine-mpd: UI state=(undefined), MPD state=(play) 20190630 092500 engine-mpd: Generating enhanced metadata 20190630 092500 enhanceMetadata(): coverurl: (/coverart.php/NAS%2FNAS%2FBach%20-%20Keyboard%20Concertos%20Nos.%201%2C%202%20%26%204%2F01%20-%20Bach%2C%20J%20S%20-%20Keyboard%20Concerto%20No.%201%20in%20D%20minor%2C%20BWV%201052%20-%20I.%20Allegro.flac) 20190630 092500 enhanceMetadata(): Song file 20190630 092500 engine-mpd: Metadata returned to client: Size=(33) 20190630 092500 loadLibrary(): Cache data returned to client 20190630 092501 engine-mpd: Get initial status 20190630 092501 engine-mpd: UI state=(play), MPD state=(play) 20190630 092501 engine-mpd: Wait for idle timeout 20190630 092510 engine-mpd: Idle timeout event=(changed: player) 20190630 092510 engine-mpd: Get new status 20190630 092510 engine-mpd: Idle timeout event=(changed: player) 20190630 092510 engine-mpd: Get new status 20190630 092510 engine-mpd: Generating enhanced metadata 20190630 092510 engine-mpd: Generating enhanced metadata 20190630 092510 mediainfo --Inform="Audio;file:///var/www/mediainfo.tpl" "/var/lib/mpd/music/NAS/NAS/Bach - Keyboard Concertos Nos. 1, 2 & 4/02 - Bach, J S - Keyboard Concerto No. 1 in D minor, BWV 1052 - II. RE: 5.3.1 does not play radios - feh123 - 06-30-2019 Thanks for the fast response. I should have added more detail - I only mentioned the network in passing so my description was rather poor. My Netgear D7000 has wifi switched off so only supplies wired internet. It is wired to a Netgear Orbi mesh system (in AP mode). This supplies both wired and wifi internet to the majority of my devices. I have a lot of devices thanks to my use of many RPIs. To help I also use powerlines and the MoOde RPI is wired to the Netgear D7000 via a Netgear powerline 1200. I have tried using the RPI wifi to connect the network - but I still saw the same error when trying to play the radio. The RPI is on a static IP address set within the D7000. I have tried DHCP too. The NAS is also wired directly to the D7000 and is also on a static IP address. The NAIM (UnitiQute 2) is not connected to the network - I have a Hifiberry Digi+Pro HAT on the RPI and the NAIM just takes the digital output. This network has always worked without a problem. Cannot connect to server did sound like a network issue but I cannot find anything wrong. (06-30-2019, 08:47 AM)feh123 Wrote: Hi Hold on ... I am trying to check if I have firewall type problem. I use Bitdefender. Thanks for responding. Wrote: The BBC 320K stations are geo-fenced and will not play if you are located outside of UK. I should have added more detail - I only mentioned the network in passing so my description was rather poor. Yes, a weird one... But I am stuck with the impression that in a 'router running off a modem-mode router' set-up all the devices requiring access to the Internet should be connected to the (second not main) router. I have a similar set-up at home and it only works this way... maybe it's my home set-up the odd one out, very possible. It sounds indeed like it is a network issue, not a MoOde failure. A quick test: connect a laptop directly to the modem-mode router via a LAN cable and check the Internet access. Other than that I would question the router's settings (exclusions, etc). RE: 5.3.1 does not play radios - feh123 - 07-01-2019 Hi Mike I tried checking my powerline as you suggested and also looking at my firewall. None of these seemed to be the cause. I did however try my MoOde setup again because I had enabled UPnP (as it said this was needed for radio). When I also enabled DLNA too the radios started working! Not sure if this is a direct causal link but it did appear to be. Maybe I missed something in the setup notes! Sorry if I wasted everyone's time. |
