will it work on pi 1 - thelisteners - 07-23-2019 Hello to everyone, this is my first post. I have a pi 1 and wanted to get moode going. First is it possible to run 5.3.1 and second I am asked for login details. Any help would be appreciated Thanks thelisteners RE: will it work on pi 1 - Tim Curtis - 07-23-2019 I still have an old 1B connected to a G2 BerryNOS Red and moOde runs fine on this rig. Setup instructions are at the following link https://github.com/moode-player/moode RE: will it work on pi 1 - thelisteners - 07-23-2019 (07-23-2019, 07:35 PM)Tim Curtis Wrote: I still have an old 1B connected to a G2 BerryNOS Red and moOde runs fine on this rig. Thanks Tim I will read it. It did boot but I came to a dead end when asked for password. I also would like to get its local user interface going. Again thanks. thelisteners RE: will it work on pi 1 - Tim Curtis - 07-23-2019 A new moOde installation boots up headless and thus logging into an attached display will only get you an SSH terminal. Connect an Ethernet cable, power up and then from a Web Browser on your PC, Tablet or phone enter one of the following URL's, whichever works on your network. http://moode http://moode.local http://IP_ADDRESS_OF_YOUR_PI Then Menu, Configure Explore the configuration settings and if you have any question just post back :-) -Tim RE: will it work on pi 1 - thelisteners - 07-24-2019 Thanks Tim Thats working fine now. One more question, I can't get any sound out of the usb sound card. Its a cheap usb pcm 2704 set to none in 12s audio device. It is playing well through the hdmi output though. Any ideas? RE: will it work on pi 1 - Tim Curtis - 07-24-2019 After pluging in the USB audio device open MPD config and set Device type to "USB audio device", then SAVE RE: will it work on pi 1 - thelisteners - 07-24-2019 That did it fine thanks Tim Is it worth getting a newer pi, say a pi 3. RE: will it work on pi 1 - Tim Curtis - 07-24-2019 My pref is either 3B+ or 3A+. They are both fast and support 5GHz WiFi :-) RE: will it work on pi 1 - Miss Sissy Princess - 07-24-2019 (07-24-2019, 07:32 PM)thelisteners Wrote: That did it fine thanks Tim It is to me, because I want fast WiFi networking to pull the music from my NAS and serve web pages quickly. I want the processor to have enough speed to rebuild the library rapidly and keep up when decoding from MP3, FLAC, ALAC, etc. to the raw output to the DAC. I want to minimize jitter and prevent any kind of dropouts. Speed is good. RE: will it work on pi 1 - thelisteners - 07-24-2019 I will get a pi 3 when I get enough cash together. |
