Power management of RPI3 running Moode 4.1 - mancio61 - 05-15-2018
Hi all,
I'm working on my project (build a network streamer with a RPI3 + HifiBerry DAC PRO+, an OLED 16x2 display and a button to wake-up/shutdown the system).
I bought a small card from Mauseberry Circuits that seemed very promising. I bought also a momentary button having a 3V blue LED that I connect to the Mauseberry board (this is the board https://mausberry-circuits.myshopify.com/collections/frontpage/products/shutdown-circuit-use-your-own-switch )
I try but maybe something goes wrong. When I push the button, the RPI wakes up and the LED light up (very nice !!!), but when I press the button to shutdown the RPI nothing happens...
Maybe I made some errors, and try to understand why.
In anycase, I red that it could be possibile to have the same behavior without the need to use such board. I red that is possible to force the shutdown of the wake-up of the RPI closing the circuit between pins 5 and 6 of the RPI (obviously using by button).

My question is about the led. How can I connect the two + and - wires soldered on the button to the GPIO of the RPi? Is it possible? Having a 3V LED, do I still need a resistor between the led and the GND pin ?

Hi. On my streamer I have a power on and shutdown buttons (momentary switches) thanks to the pi-supply switch.
It is a hardware device that also need a python script. It works flawlessly with moOde. It uses a relay. I like the fact that i use a momentary switch to turn on and off my streamer, just like all modern audio systems.
On the attached picture, you can see that I use the momentary switches on the right (2) to turn on, off, play, pause, next and previous. The buttons on the left (1) are linked to 7 different playlists. In addition I have an IR remote, a 16X2 oled display and old school analog vu-meters. The amplifier (3) is beneath the streamer and both use the same IR remote.

Oooh, I like the re-purposing of your old tuner. Very clean conversion.
Now you have me wondering about some ancient Yamaha gear gathering dust in storage. All those lovely buttons and that black-anodized brushed aluminum panel would add so much class to what is now a hacker's delight!

Pretty awesome stealth Pi moOde into the Tuner.
My fav current audio system is a Yamaha HS series Studio 2.1 near-field setup :-)
