Album Covers not showing; only Moode default - jjasniew - 07-06-2020 Now that I got my network shared disk working with Moode, I've noticed ALL of the library doesnt have the Album view cover art showing up... When I used the USB stick for the library - with far less content - containing a subset of the exact same directories, the cover art was displayed for the content directories that did have the .jpg art within. Moode currently resides on a 4GB SDHC. (I have some 16 GBs on the way) I was wondering if Moode "knows" the space limitation and therefore cannot build the cache file for the cover art? Or, is there something else I need to do, to enable these to show up? It does say "Regenerating thumbnail cache..." in the Music Database page - but I've left it on all night and still, nothing in the Album view. Thanks for any assistance! Joe RE: Album Covers not showing; only Moode default - Tim Curtis - 07-06-2020 Post the Moode log and I'll have a look. Code: cat /var/log/moode.log RE: Album Covers not showing; only Moode default - jjasniew - 07-07-2020 Thanks Tim. Here it is. I turned debugging ON and restarted. Still says "Regenerating thumbnail cache..." after restart. Covers not showing; only Moode default - Tim Curtis - 07-07-2020 Your log doesn't show any entries for the Library update or thumbnail generator. 1. Turn debug logging off 2. Reboot 3. Menu, Update library 4. Monitor the Moode log using the command below Code: moodeutl -t 5. When Library update is complete "worker: Job update_library done" as in the example below, post the bottom portion of the log in a code box. The code box button is 3rd from the right on the toolbar. RE: Album Covers not showing; only Moode default - Tim Curtis - 07-07-2020 The condition "thumbnail generator starts but never finishes" has not been reported before so you will need to do some troubleshooting. Run the command below which generates the file list which is used as input to thmcache.php. It should print out a list of all the song file paths in your collection. Code: sudo /var/www/command/listall.sh Example Code: . RE: Album Covers not showing; only Moode default - jjasniew - 07-08-2020 It does. Moode also plays them instantly. I could try to mount the disc locally, instead of through the R6300V2 and see if it picks up the cover art that way. I suspect it will, but ?? Of course I'd prefer to leave it on the router, so both audio systems pull from the same file system. Thanks for working with me on this; hope something useful for you comes out as well. Code: file: UPNP/ReadyDLNA: R6300v2/Browse Folders/Music/Hot_Tuna_-_Hot_Tuna/Mann's Fate.flac RE: Album Covers not showing; only Moode default - TheOldPresbyope - 07-08-2020 @jjasniew 1) I infer from the filenames in your post that you are using your router as a UPnP Media Server rather than as a SAMBA server. Is this true? I don't use UPnP services routinely but in a quick-n-dirty test last night I came up with what might be spurious behavior with coverart in this configuration...or it may be I was too sleepy to do the test right. Will dig deeper today. 2) You said "I'd prefer to leave it on the router, so both audio systems pull from the same file system." That's fine and it's the mode I run in normally, but don't forget that each moOde player runs as a SAMBA server for its local music library. If you have your tracks on a local disk on one player, other players can mount the first as their music source. I have one subset of my library shared this way. In this configuration it would be prudent to use your huskiest RPi, preferably RPi4B, for the file-serving player. Regards, Kent RE: Album Covers not showing; only Moode default - jjasniew - 07-08-2020 My cable modem clicks-off at midnight, so I can get some sleep. The R6300 router is still active, so I clicked every button to see. Here's the moodutl -t response I recorded. Finally this morning I dismounted the HDD from the READYShare and simply plugged it into the pi. Album art shows in this case, but to no avail through the "UPNP/ReadyDLNA:" connection, even after the Done with # albums processed report. Thanks Kent. I realize that's an alternate workaround. I'm running a pi 3B. Code: pi@moode:~ $ moodeutl -t RE: Album Covers not showing; only Moode default - jjasniew - 07-08-2020 Putting humpty-dumpty back together (with the HDD connected back at the R6300), I'm back to no album art. Interesting the different numbers for album dirs processed, shown below. I did notice Moode was going through all manner of other audible crap on the HDD when I did the "listall.sh" previously; stuff outside the READYSHARE/USB_Storage/Music directory I specified in the Music Source Server Path. Thanks! Code: pi@moode:~ $ moodeutl -t |
