Interesting. I'll run some tests later today with DSD64, DoP and the EQ's to see if I can repro the noise.
Are u running MPD 0.21.3 or 0.20.20 ??

Just an FYI that Katana driver updates have been accepted into the Linux 4.19.y kernel branch :-)

These should be available when the next kernel (4.19.26 or higher) is pushed to rpi-update

But we all know the Pi board itself can get very warm, even hot.
