all radio stations except SOMA are static - skypickle - 07-31-2020 Using RPi3 + Kali reclocker + PianoDAC 2.1 To get this little streamer to work, I had to set the DAC to 'PianoDAC' Piano DAC 2.1 would not be recognized by mpd player. Anyway, I could get music from some radio stations. Any station that is a SOMA station plays fine, but all others in the default config are static. Is this expected? RE: all radio stations except SOMA are static - skypickle - 08-01-2020 and all Hi-res music as well. Anything that is not 16bit 44khz is just a bunch of hiss and static. Is this an issue with the Piano DAC? RE: all radio stations except SOMA are static - Tim Curtis - 08-01-2020 AFAIK Kali only accepts 16 or 32 bit word length. Anything 24 bit will be distorted. Try setting SoX resampling to 32 bit / * kHz. RE: all radio stations except SOMA are static - DRONE7 - 08-01-2020 (08-01-2020, 12:30 AM)skypickle Wrote: and all Hi-res music as well. Anything that is not 16bit 44khz is just a bunch of hiss and static. Is this an issue with the Piano DAC? Yes, there appears to be a problem with the piano dac and the latest Linux Kernel. There are several posts here..page 8 onwards. http://moodeaudio.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=2804&page=9 Allo have been made aware of their hardware problem here.. https://audiophilestyle.com/forums/topic/59996-piano-21-moode-66/ This problem is showing in other audio players . RE: all radio stations except SOMA are static - skypickle - 08-01-2020 confirmed. Setting Sox resampling to 32 bit 'cured' the problem. |
