Streaming radio dropouts - malcolmwa - 11-13-2020
Mo0de 6.7.1 on pi2 with SSD via usb. While streaming, I get an infrequent random cut-out of music. It restarts after maybe 10 seconds, sometimes longer. Just upgraded internet to 100 mbs, connected via ethernet. Laptops and TV work fine. Suggestions?

Symptoms suggest a power supply resource issue.
What power supply are you using for the Pi ? and are you powering the SSD from the Pi or a separate USB hub or dedicated supply ?

Laptop ps 19v3.24a. SSD powered via PI. Also needed to mention, HiFiBerry Amp2 on top of pi. Seems like I need to get USB hub?

Yes that, most probably, is the problem. :-) A powered usb hub sized to accommodate the SSD should fix it.

Got a powered hub but our entire island lost power last night, so testing will have to wait.
