Moode + Cayin cs-55a - welder911 - 11-17-2020 Hello everyone, I have a tube amp at home with the model of rpi4 and cayin cs55a. Could you please tell me what settings I should adjust to get the best sound over USB. Because I don't want to use SOX, but I wonder if the moode in standard setting automatically provides the resolutions my amp supports? Best Regards, Gokhan RE: Moode + Cayin cs-55a - Tim Curtis - 11-17-2020 What DAC is the device using? However, according to rumors, ESS9016 is used. https://en.cayin.cn/down1/show?id=13567 RE: Moode + Cayin cs-55a - grasshopper - 11-17-2020 (11-17-2020, 02:46 PM)welder911 Wrote:(11-17-2020, 02:01 PM)Tim Curtis Wrote: What DAC is the device using? This is a mystery. Interesting that they don't advertise the DAC brand at all, I'd be popping the lid off & having a look for any identifying refs & googling them. RE: Moode + Cayin cs-55a - DRONE7 - 11-18-2020 It is USB 2.0 so should be plug and play in Linux and MoOde. (Driver only needed for Windows.) Specs are... [*]USB DAC Specification:Compatible with Audio Class 1.0 and Audio Class 2.0 [*]Word length: 16-32bits [*]Sampling rate: 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, 96kHz, 176.4kHz, 192kHz, 352.8kHz, 384kHz With it connected and music playing use the Moode menu to view the 'Audio Info' If this reports the formats, Sampling rate, and Word length of the files you are playing then all is well. Relax and listen to some music. RE: Moode + Cayin cs-55a - jonners - 11-18-2020 Set Volume control in MPD to 'Hardware' (if available). That's it. Relax... etc. RE: Moode + Cayin cs-55a - welder911 - 11-19-2020 (11-18-2020, 08:27 AM)DRONE7 Wrote: It is USB 2.0 so should be plug and play in Linux and MoOde. (Driver only needed for Windows.)[*] This is exactly the situation, RE: Moode + Cayin cs-55a - CallMeMike - 11-19-2020 Well done... plus the bonus of a tidy heating source from those valves come the winter frost :-) RE: Moode + Cayin cs-55a - DRONE7 - 11-19-2020 Looking fine there Perhaps you are wondering why your DSD is converted ? Looks like your DAC does not play Native DSD..... that's hardware and you may wish to ask the maker why. Otherwise all is as expected and working well :-) |
