HiFiBerry Digi+ Pro - ALSA MPD error - pirambaba - 11-26-2020

Hello, all. 
Recently got a Digi+ Pro HW1.2 and had a "MPD error | Failed to open ALSA default | Failed to open ALSA device hw:1,0 | No such file or directory". 

After some back and forth, realised that setting I2S audio device to None solved the issue (as opposed to "HiFiBerry Digi+ Pro" or "HiFiBerry Digi(Digi+)"). 

I don't understand why this solved it, but thought it could be useful to others and maybe someone know what I did wrong. 

Setup: Pi B v1.2, running from a 10A 5V switching power supply (into GPIO pins #4 and #6). Soldered a 2x20 pint header to the Digi+ Pro. Software is moodeaudio 6.7.1. Prior to the Digi+ Pro, I've used a USB-powered DAC Focusrite Scarlett 2i4.
