upgrade from 6 to 7 - richo - 01-17-2021
Hello,
I was wondering if there is a way to upgrade from version 6 to 7?
I see only new image to download and no option in application itself to do upgrade.
If there is no upgrade possible and only direct reinstall, is there a way to transfer configuration options?

No upgrade path across major versions unfortunately due to the changes to OS level parts. Once you get into the 7 versions there is an increasingly comprehensive settings export facility which can be used for this.

I think the export facility is there in 6, but I don't have a copy of 6 still around to be sure. Also, the settings exported by 6 will not be as comprehensive as they are in 7 (and even 7 needs some manual configuration after.
SSH into your player and run:

moodeutl -hThat will give you the help file which explains the functions. You need:

moodeutl -iYou can look at the export file in a text editor to see what settings it has exported.

In 6+ you don't have these options. You have to install Moode 7, and then you will benefit from these new export/import abilities.
In 6.7.1 :
