Isolator - experiences? - zOr7gA8 - 02-04-2021 I'm thinking about putting one between my rpi3A+ and my hat-dac and combine this with better power supply. Bot I am not sure about. Will it be worth the money? What are your experiences? regards Martin RE: Isolator - experiences? - bitlab - 02-04-2021 I have some good expierence with the Allo Isolator, a not to expensive solution. But in case your hat-dac is an i2s master, which require GPIO for clock selection you can run into trouble. In my case it eliminate the background noise to real deep dark background, also prevents occasional crack or pops. You need you feed it with a clean supply, separate from your pi. I think it's worth the money. Later on I moved to an Ian Canada Fifopi, but that is an reclocker with isolator so that only works with if your hat-dac that is a i2s slave. PS Depending on your soldering skills diyinhk have a bare isolator pcb for $0, but no experience with it. |
