But the "compilation" part is very long on a Pi3B!

The time also is dependent on how fast your SD card is. I migrated to a SanDisk Extreme Pro 32GB, because I have a 8TB database. My 3B is now turbo boosted. The whole update process took 12 minutes. And more important,  moOde was slowish, now it's real snappy. Thanks all for this new upgrade [Image: smile.png]

RE: Official moOde 7.1.0 support thread - alexj84nl - 03-19-2021

Update: I just fixed it by selecting other MPD output (so not the D90 but HDMI output), saving, restarting, and then back to d90... Not sure why/how, but it works again.

I just updated to the last version, from a really recent version (I flashed on a clean SD card like 3-4 weeks ago).
Result is that I don't have any music coming from my system.

Setup:
RPI4 --> USB OUT --> Topping D90 DAC --> Preamp

Before the update it was playing music.
I did not touch the pre-amp/power-amp.
I did the update from the web gui
followed progress with SSH
reboot
Hit the play button, no music.
Checked all settings, but all seems allright (MPD setting still on D90, volume set to fixed).

Now most weird thing is, that my D90 DAC is detecting the audio signal coming in from Moode.
It shows correct bitrate (44.1khz / 48khz / 96khz).
I tried both local nas playback and internet radio stations.
Same results, no sound is coming through.
My guess; something wrong with volume?

Any tips / advice?

Btw, have been using Moode for roughly a year now, really great !!
.

Hi @Tim Curtis
upgrade works fine. I have a oled i2c display, during reinstallation i made a mistake and i deleted alsa.conf file.
Now i have MPD error.
Could you say me how i have to write to restore it?

I have usb dac:

pi@Simoode-audio:~ $ cat /proc/asound/modules
0 snd_bcm2835
1 snd_bcm2835
2 snd_usb_audio

i created a new alsa.conf but in moodeutl -l i have this error:

20210319 120532 worker: ALSA Invalid card number. volume (Invalid card number.)

It seems that I have a problem

more than one hour that moodeutl -t displays :
"Compile upmpdcli 1.5.8"

And the "sys-config" page is freezed.

(On a pi 3B)

I'm not sure what I have to or can do.

fresh install ?

Due to time constraints I'm only able to test the in-place updates on a single Pi which happens to be a 3B+.

I wouldn't be surprised if compiling something like upmpdcli on a single core Pi takes like 2 or 3 hours or maybe even longer :-0

Reboot and then post the Moode startup log.

Code:
moodeutl -l

RE: Official moOde 7.1.0 support thread - GStevens - 03-19-2021

Updated in place all OK - just over 10 min on Pi 4B with 8G.

I've updated my preferences to Artist+, but I do not see Composer anywhere in the UI - am I missing something?

Thanks,
Geoff

Ok in MPD menù i have had 2 entries with same name for my usb dac. One of this was offline. Changing selection now is working.
How can avoid to have 2 entries for same one usb dac?

I gave up after 80 minutes Smile

The problem is that update forces 4 tasks for compilation with "make -j4". RPi Zero shows like load average above 10, full memory in use and kswapd0 as a top CPU consumer. Would be nice to configure update script for low memory or single CPU.
