Newbie to Moode - mrinalt - 04-09-2021

Hello there
I am a new user to Moode, enjoying it so far.
Few questions:
  1. I presume there is no Apple Music support? I have searched for forums but there does not seem to be a way for this to be supported?
  2. Is there anyway to make output from airplay as mono?
  3. What is the point of the http stream server?

Hi,
1. no there is no support for apple music.
2. looks like a airplay question, never used this.
3. http streaming is a feature. things your device running moode is playing can be streamed via http in your local network to other devices with little delay.

Many thanks Martin. How can I access this stream? Can I access this stream from another moode player and essentially create multiroom audio?

To have Airplay output in mono you would meed to edit the file /etc/shairport-sync.conf, uncomment the playback_mode parameter and set it = "mono".  Restart Airplay for the change to take effect.

//    playback_mode = "stereo"; // This can be "stereo", "mono", "reverse stereo", "both left" or "both right". Default is "stereo".

turn on http streaming on audio config. standard port is 8000, i think. in this case, when moode is playing sound,
it could be accessed by other devices via browser or radio-app with "ip.adress.of.moode:8000"
e.g. http://192.168.178.25:8000

If you want to access the http stream from another Pi running moOde then open Radio View and create a new station specifying the playable URL as "NAME_OR_IPADDRESS_OF_OTHER_PI:8000"

Just note that the HTTP server is not a solution for synchronized multi-room audio.
