Radio Player with Dial to Manually Select Stations - adrii - 05-20-2021 I made a simple radio player that can be operated manually with a single potentiometer dial (I haven't finished decorating the box yet!) [attachment=2316] [attachment=2315] [attachment=2317] I wrote some software to manage the dial, and a set of instructions for configuring everything https://github.com/antiprism/turnandrun It will work with a slider instead of a dial (anything that can be attached to the ADC board, probably also some sensors). All it does is run commands when values lie in a specified band, so it can easily be used for other purposes. Adrian. RE: Radio Player with Dial to Manually Select Stations - adrii - 06-09-2021 I made a video to show the player in action! It has been working out really well as a manually operated kitchen radio. If the video is not accessible in the post, here is a link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjFp83IrOW4 Adrian. RE: Radio Player with Dial to Manually Select Stations - the_bertrum - 06-09-2021 I'm planning something similar to replace the innards of an old Roberts radio I have in the kitchen. I was going to try for a rotary switch so change stations but maybe this dial system will feel more like tuning an analogue radio and will suit the look better. Much to think on.... What brand and model is the speaker amp shown in your picture? Regards, Richard RE: Radio Player with Dial to Manually Select Stations - adrii - 06-15-2021 Hi Richard Thanks! The amp is a PAM8406, like this https://www.ebay.es/itm/191858031563?hash=item2caba13bcb:g:eEIAAOSw2GlXIg7f Mine was 2.24 euros, with free shipping. I put it in a 70 cent box and power it with an old 2 amp phone charger. [attachment=2352] The speakers are terrible 3 ohm speakers from a portable player I bought over 30 years ago, so I am doing my best to match components! I am actually thinking of upgrading the speakers/amp, as the lack of quality is quite apparent if I am not grinding coffee. Adrian. There are some nice 3 to 5 inch wide range speakers from Dayton, amongst others = https://www.daytonaudio.com/category/123/full-range Regards, Richard.
