I have been using the rpi "image-utils" to make a full backup - you can run "image-backup" on the running system, which creates a .img file (suitable for re-flashing). The tools will also do full/incremental backups if you're so inclined.

I'll probably use this to make a full backup, in addition to saving my configuration settings (belt *and* suspenders) before wiping and updating to 8.0

documentation & code are here: https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=247568

Nice :-)

Is there a Git repo for the softwares or some other repo that show how they are licensed?

+1 for image utils or other similar backup scripts. I do it manually by dd command, but automated would be much easier.

Image utils are here (seems like not developed any longer):
https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=247568
https://github.com/scruss/RonR-RaspberryPi-image-utils

Also here are similar scripts:
https://github.com/The-Exterminator/PiShrink-to-Crontab

Also I think OpenMediaVault has a similar functionality built-in:
https://github.com/OpenMediaVault-Plugin-Developers/openmediavault-backup/blob/master/usr/sbin/omv-backup

Those scripts are very similar to each other and doing pretty much the same thing.

I hope that helps.

will the version also run on a Raspberry PI 400?
I would like to buy one because there are delivery problems with the normal Raspberry.

Thanks
Carsten

I can't test actual audio throughput until tonight but a virgin copy of  moOde7.6.1 boots on the Raspberry Pi 400 I have in front of me (in the public library at the moment....but that's another story).

It came up in WiFI Access Point mode; my laptop connected to it as a WiFi client; and the webUI displays/functions properly when I open URL 172.24.1.1. I'd say we're in business.

From the head of the SysInfo output:

Code:
S Y S T E M   P A R A M E T E R S

moOde release       = 7.6.1 2021-12-17
RaspiOS             = 10.6
Linux kernel        = 5.4.77-v7l+ #1371
Platform            = Pi-400 1.0 4GB
Architecture        = armv7l (32-bit)

Regards,
Kent

Thank you Kent.

I will order one.

@schwidi

Actually, I liked the packaging and heft of the Pi400 so much I drove down the next day to a Micro Center store here in Maryland and bought one off the shelf. My half-baked plan is to turn it into a cyber deck for mentoring.

As I type I’m runnng it With moOde, a Creative USB-BT transceiver, and Sennheiser headphones. Works a treat, which I expected since it’s basically a slightly faster Pi 4B.

Note the GPIO port on the rear is not convenient. I would not consider using a DAC HAT with this model Pi except perhaps in benchtop testing. As I’m sure you’ve noticed, there’s no 3.5mm audio jack either. USB, HDMI, and Bluetooth output are fine.

Regards,
Kent

No! Infatti, la possibilità di utilizzarlo sarà disabilitata per evitare errori o crash del sistema, poiché MoOde gira per lo più su sistemi con meno di 4GB di Ram.

I'm of the view that the 64 bit option offered a slight uptick in clarity at high frequencies. Subtle to be sure, but there, I would not speculate why this should be but it is easily identifiable once recognized. I've had no issues with crashing or other with the 64-bit kernel option enabled. To put this in perspective, the improvement is not of the same magnitude as say, running the cpu in 'performance' mode. Not sure how this trades off with potential improvements in v8.0.
