Several problems after updating to 4.2 - blarg - 09-25-2018 1) I just tried enabling the adaptive UI (that feature where the color of the Album becomes the UI color). As soon as the UI changed color it became completely unresponsive and illegible. I ended up rebuilding and trying again and the same thing happened (at this point I realized that it's the adaptive UI that's causing it). There doesn't seem to be a way to restore it. Nothing changes it back so I'm probably going to do another rebuild in the morning. 2) Also when I click "check for update" I get a notification of a newer build (even though it's a fresh build using the latest script) when I click "install" it just disappears and nothing happens. 3) Can't mount a Windows 10 share until I manually change mount option to vers=3.0 4) Haven't gotten whole library random play working yet....but due to UI problem I haven't had much time to play with it. Going to experiment a little more tomorrow...hopefully will get it up and running. RE: Several problems after updating to 4.2 - blarg - 09-25-2018 update - Rebuilt again. DID NOT turn on adaptive display and after importing my music library (about 14000 songs) the same thing happened. The playback and library screen goes white with a couple of control elements visible but most of the UI goes white and blank. here's a screenshot of what I'm seeing. The settings UI elements are still accessible, but the the playback/library stuff goes white/mostly blank every time I import my library. This same library worked on the previous version. https://imgur.com/TPJJGW0 RE: Several problems after updating to 4.2 - Tim Curtis - 09-25-2018 Please post details about your configuration including the output from System info after the issue occurs and I'll have a look. Also post a sample of any errors that appear in the MPD log. cat /var/log/mpd/log RE: Several problems after updating to 4.2 - blarg - 09-25-2018 (09-25-2018, 06:55 PM)Tim Curtis Wrote: Please post details about your configuration including the output from System info after the issue occurs and I'll have a look. the config is a RPI 3B with a HifiBerry Dac+ Pro. Just a list of "updated" music since I just ran a rescan. It looks like the problem may be that the web server gets corrupted somehow? Some settings can be changed via the UI but some are unresponsive. For example if I try to change my audio device (I did this to rule out wrong device in the dropdown) I can set it, but if I use the reboot selection from the UI the PI will not reboot. I can ssh into it and reboot from CLI but not from the web UI. RE: Several problems after updating to 4.2 - Tim Curtis - 09-25-2018 I see both an Ethernet and Wifi connections active. Generally having two network interfaces active at the same t-me can cause routing issues. Either unplug Ethernet cable or turn off Wifi interface in System config, then reboot. Also, after the issue occurs check to see if the Web stack, MPD or worker.php has crashed. pgrep -l MPD pgrep -l nginx pgrep -l php-fpm pgrep -l worker.php EDIT: also since you are using Hifiberry DAC+Pro, the 1st generation of this device has a hardware defect that results in interference in the WiFi band that results in unstable WiFi connections. Generally having two network interfaces active at the same t-me can cause routing issues. I disconnected Ethernet and the problem persists - I generally use Ethernet to set it up and then switch to wifi but use both during the build process and never had a problem before. I also don't think that my hifiberry DAC+Pro is the problem as I've had it working perfectly since the last couple of 3.x versions which is when I started using Moode. I can also go back to my 4.1 installation (I switch SD cards when upgrading so I can revert to the previous version if there's a problem) and it's working just like it did before. Whatever is going on was not a problem in the last version and was introduced in 4.2. This exact same hardware has been working for over a year and continues to work on 4.1. |
