Spotify volume normalization on Pi Zero - the_bertrum - 11-03-2022

Hi folks,

I encountered an issue where the second and subsequent tracks on any Spotify playlist would stop for half a second every second.  This only happened on my Pi Zero based player, all the others (Pi4) were fine.

I noticed that somehow, I'd enabled "Volume Normalization" in the rendered settings on the Pi Zreo.  Turning this back off made the issue go away.  I guess it's just that the Zero can' cope with the extra processing.

I don't use the volume normalization feature as a rule.  I tend to listen to whole albums rather than tracks from all over, and volume differences between track on an album would (I hope) be deliberate for effect if they occur at all.

Yer prolly right about the Zero and issues processing DSP like volume normalization.
