8.3.1 Legacy on Raspberry Pi 4, problem after update - Jedrek - 04-19-2023
After update from version 8.3.0 to 8.3.1 my player can't play any music (without radio) and can't find any sources (wothout radio). On my lcd i have a error from the screen and lcd not changing to graphic.
How i can repair the problem ?
Now, i temporary remove the process by command:
sudo systemctl disable haveged
but please write a different solution with haveged enabled

One solution would be to use the 64bit image which works on my Pi4B systems without issue.
Or wait for the bugfix that Tim is working on as a result of the other thread about this issue.

I have an important question before changing the LEGACY software to x64.
Will the saved configuration file from the Legacy version be easily imported into the x64 version?

Yes.
- make a backup from the legacy setup
- copy it somewhere on your PC
- flash the uSD card with the x64 image
- boot, then restore the backup

Also, since you use an LCD, check for the metadata file to be enabled somewhere under "m" => settings => audio => MPD

Unfortunately, I have a problem. I made a moodeaudio 8.3.2 image in 64 bit version. I played so far on the uSD card and started the device. The device starts up with a blue screen asking for a new user. I can't do it or cancel it because touch doesn't work. Also wifi doesn't work in AP mode. I connected the device with a LAN cable and called up the player page. She got up and nothing else. I can't go into any settings or change anything. I've been fighting for several hours now.
The WIFI doesn't seem to turn on at all.
After a few minutes, even the home page of the device stops loading

It looks like you didn't create a user from the image-flasher application.
Did you read the installation instructions?

Well, I didn't create it, and I didn't know it. I didn't read anything because I thought it was done as for the legacy version, i.e. we record the image and nothing else needs to be done, except configuration.
I still don't know how to do it, I have a moodeaudio 8.3.2 image ready, which I always recorded on the card with Win32DiskImager software.
Approx. I already know what it is and how to use the software to burn the image to the uSD card.
Is it possible to use my old recording method?
image (Win32DiskImager) and possibly correcting specific files, just adding a user, etc?

I premit that I don't know Win32DiskImager.
But if you use the Raspberry Pi Imager, you just load the image, then follow the instructions in the moOde guide to add a user and password (you can specify pi and moodeaudio, as they've always been, if you like) and then enable SSH.
Although you can not enable SSH (the system will run anyway...) you MUST create a user; the imager lets you configure everything in a couple of clicks.
You can download such imager (and use it in place of your disk imager...) from the Raspberry Pi official site.
