I am using a iFi PowerX, wich is a significant upgrade from the standard Raspberry pi one. I have also ordered a Ian Canada UCPI to start my stack from the bottom  Smile. Attached a picture of my DAC, standard hifinet kit, except I have substituted the Audiophiler caps with some nice Bennic ones I had in my sparesbox.

With a different opinion, Gabster says there is only a small improvement in the sound of ProtoDAC with Q7 and PurePi.

Now that I have been enjoying the ProtoDAC on Pi 4B for a few weeks, I am looking into using the ProtoDAC on Pi 2W. My understanding is the GPIO is the same for both 4B and 2W, hence, it should work.

Now how about the sound quality? Has anyone tried this on 2W?

My major concern is there is only 512M RAM in 2W and I wonder how this will affect the MoOde software.

Works fine on Pi Zero 2W (assume that is what you refer to and not a Pi 2)
GPIO is standard for 40 pin out on both.

Run the command below. It shows how much memory is being used.

Code:
moodeutl -m

I am new here. I ordered a ProtoDAC from Mark, it should arrive early next week. Looking forward to trying it in it's stock form.

The 2W is bit noisier than the Zero W. I don't think you could tell without a back to back comparison. The Zero W is my regular RPi, and the 2W has quite a bit snappier response. Memory used is 44% with default MPD buffer settings (4MB audio and 128MB output buffer).

Time to cheer a picture of my current setup. One 2200uf Audio Note and a .47uf Vcap ODAM on the output.

Received my kit from Mark. It was very easy to build. I did a quick test using Volumio to verify functionality.
Now I just need to figure out how to set up MoOde Pre5 for Bookworm since I am using a Raspberry Pi5.

Nice caps Smile I am also using a tube amp and want to test some higher-grade caps.  Just waiting a good deal.

What is your power supply that feeds the 3.3V convertor board?

Thank you!
