Hi fellow audio nerds. - MidLifeDIY - 06-12-2023

Hi folks. My name is Cory and I am a audio/linux nerd. Smile

I've always been a tinkerer. A friend got me started with RedHat many years ago. Few years went by, Ubuntu came along and I co-created Ubuntu Studio. I ran a team of better nerds than I for a few years 'till I handed the project off.

Raspberry Pi came along and I got to combine a few passions. Smile Lots of little boxes doing things (like all of us). Been using moOde for a bit now. My main box is based off a CM4 with the official dev board, official screen and a HiFi Berry DAC+. (ill have a full post on the project soon) Smile

@MidLifeDIY

Hi, Cory.

Welcome to our merry band.

I've never used Ubuntu Studio---I'm a music listener, not a creator---but it looks amazing. Kudos.

As for your main box, I'm impressed with your sheet metal work. I have also used the CM4 / official dev board including as a moOde player, but like much of the gear on my desk aka workbench, it's all open chassis and cables running everywhere.  Tongue

Regards,
Kent

lol.. I too have 'everywhere cables'
Sometimes when I plug them in nothing happens.
Sometimes something expected happens and other times something unexpected happens.
Very occasionally something spectacular and unexpected happens...often involving the release of the magic blue smoke...:-)

As a jeweller-metalsmith I too am impressed with your metalworking skills!

Thanx! I'm a metal fabricator (sign worker) by trade. The case isn't final. It's like the 3rd revision. I also have a button/LED on the top I'm trying to get working atm. Might do a rotary encoder as well. Tongue Again, I'll do a little project post soon with more pics. (and a few optimization questions)

I split the signal (i know i know) to run two amps but they are just slightly out of sync so I don't do it often. I'm in a bit of a temp space so I don't have my full rig but it works for now.
