DSD64 content not playing over DOP - varunach - 08-29-2023 I built a Raspberry Pi4 streamer with an I2S HAT to use with my Denafrips Pontus II DAC and installed Moode OS on it. The I2S HAT supports DSD playback via transport/conversion to PCM when set in DOP mode. The max resolution is 24bit/192Khz so all PCM conversions maxes out there. The weird thing is DSD128 plays just fine (converted to 192 khz), but there is no sound output for DSD64 content (converted to 176 khz). Any ideas why? Is this related to a clock problem in RPi4? RE: DSD64 content not playing over DOP - Tim Curtis - 08-29-2023 What make/model is the I2S HAT? RE: DSD64 content not playing over DOP - TheOldPresbyope - 08-29-2023 I don't claim to be expert on this DAC but the Denefrips Pontus II spec sheet says Quote:DSD DSD64 / 2.8224MHz (DoP) on Coax/AES/Opt Input Does this mean DSD64 isn't available on I2S input??? Regards, Kent RE: DSD64 content not playing over DOP - Nutul - 08-29-2023 Not an expert here too, but what do you mean with "convert"? Do you specify the DoP option in the settings, or do you actually convert the file (which makes no sense)? RE: DSD64 content not playing over DOP - varunach - 08-30-2023 @Tim Curtis it is this one - https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803457718766.html that I got from aliexpress. I think its the same one as this board from audiophonics - https://www.audiophonics.fr/en/dac-and-interface-modules/audiophonics-digipii2s-digital-interface-wm8804g-for-raspberry-pi-spdif-i2s-tcxo-p-15821.html @Nutul DOP setting (which i believe packages as a PCM is what i meant to say) RE: DSD64 content not playing over DOP - Tim Curtis - 08-30-2023 You should try simply connecting the the Pi to your DAC via USB. Before connecting, both "Named I2S device" and "DT overlay" need to be set to "None" in Audio Config then reboot. After reboot select your USB DAC from the "Output device" dropdown and you should be all set. |
