Hello
In order to use both squeezelite and mpd, you could add the squeezelite parameter -C 1
This closes the output in order to let mdp open it

The challenge with making that part of the standard option string is that a lot of Squeezelite users prefer the default behavior of Squeezelite which is to keep the audio output always open.

It can be an option in the Squeezelite configuration page, I think... (Default / MPD-friendly)
