struggle to get it run - tschabippe - 12-12-2023
Hi,
I am coming from picorePlayer and wanted to test something new like moodeaudio.
I did everything as described but all I get is the Moode Cover on the webui.

I am using a Raspberry Pi B+ w Hifiberry DAC+ on a 32GB SD-card.
How to find out what went wrong?

1. we cannot possibly see an image that is on your Pi at the moment... but I think I got what you mean
2. what do you mean with "I did everything as described"? This should be: defined username and password (at least), defined wi-fi, set host name (as a bonus)
3. There is no Pi B+, there must be a number before the "B", like 2, 3 or 4 (of course, it could be a 1, but cannot remember if they came with revisions too). please specify
4. if you can reach the Pi via ssh you could reboot, and post here (better if in a 'code' block) the results of moodeutl -l, that is, the startup log

okay, thanks for the quick response!
1. I was only putting on the moode 8.3.7 image, assuming its not enough
2. just creating an Image w Pi Imager
3. I do have a Pi B
4. cannot reach the Pi via ssh, assuming its because of the "wrong" image
keep on trying

You should be ok even on the ancient Pi-B.

Even if you created the image with the Raspberry Pi Imager program you must have set the default username and password---using the "OS Customisation" settings in Imager---before starting the imaging, as Al said. While in the OS customisation menus, go to Services and make sure "Enable SSH" is checked and "use password authentication" is chosen.

I should mention preemptively that the performance of moOde on a Pi-B or for that matter any of the old single core Pi's is not going be that great so set your expectations accordingly.

Wow, an original right down to the meager 256MB! I'm impressed moOde booted with so little headroom available.

I think I have every non-CM Pi except for 02W and 400.
