Hello,
I would like to ask for advice about setting up a audio streaming infrastructure.
The idea is to end up with a serious high quality streaming set up. It should be rock solid reliable, easy to maintain and sound great.
My streaming client will be Rpi 3b with allo digi signature hat, running Moode. I have a PC running 24/7 in my office where local music file are stored. It will be connected ethernet. Client feeds a Anthem avm 90,so no USB input.
I am using Jriver as server now. I have read that I may get better sound using minimserver. Any opinions?
I have also read, Just use a usb hard drive pluged in to the Pi will sound best.
I know all this stuff is subjective and hope I am not out of line asking this.

Couple questions:
1. How many tracks in your collection?
2. What audio formats (DSF, FLAC, MP3, ALAC, etc)
3. Just one Pi or multiple Pi's that need access to the music files?
4. WiFi network quality and performance (excellent, good, not so good)?
5. Primary client (SmartPhone, Desktop PC, Tablet)?

Also I would like to stream Qobuz. I use a laptop for controller.
Copying what I read. I was thinking PC running minimserver and bubbleupnpserver - Linn Kazoo for control app.

A simple and reliable solution is to put your music collection on a high quality USB drive and plug it into the Pi.
I use Sandisk Ultra Fit 128GB drives. They are inexpensive and reliable. One is in a Pi used as a combo file server and multiroom sender and another is used as a backup. Below is a link to the 512GB drive.
